All New Electric Suspension System For Harley Davidson

The new Harley Davidson LiveWire

Harley Davidson has been one of the most reputed motorcycle makers for decades now. The new all-electric motorcycle from Harley Davidson introduces a full electrical suspension system and is the first of its kind to run to completely operate on the electricity. The new model is known as the LiveWire. The new all-electric model has already found favor in the market as the electrical suspension system makes it possible for the bike to produce 100% of its rated torque once the throttle is released.

Absence of traditional clutch

There is no traditional clutch on this new model and the gearbox is mated with the motor output shaft which ends power to the gearbox. The rear suspension unit can be fully customized manually so the rider can fully fine-tune the bike’s performance. This also allows the rider to change the performance tuning according to the terrain. The electrical eliminates the loss in mechanical power that reduced the final torque, so the bike can operate at nearly 100% efficiency.

Power

The motorcycle comes with a 15.5kwh battery that can offer 140 miles at city range and combined stop and go performance for 88 miles. The battery is rechargeable and is stored in an aluminum housing which also serves the purpose of a heat sink for cooling the cells. The battery comes with a regulator rectifier that can keep the battery charged while it’s running. There is a separate accessory battery available for running the accessories like the lights and the horns. All the official dealers of the Harley Davidson will offer DCFC charging stations for charging purposes of the battery. It also comes with a special charging port that can also support household outlets.

Electronic ride control

The suspension system of the bike is connected electrically with the gearbox of the bike that allows the user to choose for different bike modes. The different modes will automatically tune the performance and the suspension system of the bike. Four modes are already programmed in the bike and have an option for the user to add three more modes according to their choice and preference. The modes can be switched in between operation and also when stationery. The electronic suspension allows for the terrain data to be compiled with the present settings of the ride mode and the performance is tuned automatically for the safety of the rider and improves traction. The research firm Value Market Research anticipates new models and innovation is expected to see a high demand in the market with the rising popularity of eco-friendly bikes.
