ELECTRIC AUTOMOBILES NOT NAMED TESLA ARE BEING REJECTED BY CAR SHOPPERS

Confirmations are made by Ford that a third of its cars will be smoke-free by the year 2030. Volkswagen expects to sell a million electric vehicles a year, just two years from now. On the other hand, Volvo promised that half of the automobiles produced will be smoke-free by the year 2025. By the time this year ends, every automobile company will manufacture at least one electric vehicle.

Though 45 smoke-free and plug-in hybrids had been introduced in the previous year in the US, only 325,000 plug-in traveller vehicles had been sold, down by 6.8%, compared to 349,000 that were sold in 2018. Even this number is only 2% of the 17 million of the total cars sold in 2019. Only 112,961 cars were sold in the initial three quarters of the year 2019, 5.6% compared to the last year.

Mark Wakefield, the manager of automotive practises at consulting syndicate Alixpartners reported that the amount of electric battery models which are accessible were just above fifty percent compared to last year, but it did not budge much. After struggling for a while, auto mobile makers became serious about manufacturing smoke-free cars, spending their resources completely on the electric vehicles ranging from muscle cars, SUVs, sedans, etc.. their attempts have been futile since their sales ratio is not increasing. This indicates that the investment of billions of dollars in manufacturing electric vehicles is at risk.

This decrease in sales is not only restricted to the US. If we look at China, there is a 4 percent decline in the sales compared to last year. This is according to the sources at Automobile Manufacturers of China.

Major reason for this drop in sales is the introduction of reduction in customer subsidies that started in the June of last year.
