Microsoft has officially announced to scrap the service of Internet Explorer from 2022

The global software company Microsoft is going to completely shut down its old Internet browser, which is Internet Explorer, after about a service of 25 years. After the company brought a new Edge browser for its Windows version, it gave its users the time to switch from Explorer to a new browser. The company is finally ending support for the Internet Explorer browser altogether. However, it is a long process since it will take more than a year to scrap the prevalence of Internet Explorer. Although it is essential to keep in mind that most users have already switched to either the Chrome and Mozilla Firefox or the Edge browser.

Microsoft has officially announced that its Internet Explorer browser will be scrapped from 15th June 2022. After the arrival of several advanced internet browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, the officials remarked that many users who used Explorer felt left out due to the slow connectivity and lesser scope of the software. That is why the company had to bring in a new Edge browser explorer based on the Chromium engine.

The Microsoft Edge program manager, Sean Landersey, announced the end of the company’s support for Internet Explorer. He stated that the company is reporting that the Microsoft Edge browser will carry forward the future of Internet Explorer in Windows 10. The Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will retire on June 15, 2022, for some versions of Windows 10, and support for it will also be discontinued. The Users have been advised to shift their usage towards the new Microsoft Edge browser.

Through an interactive session with the media, Microsoft has confirmed that the long-term servicing channel (LTSC) of Windows 10 will continue to come with Internet Explorer only until next year. At the same time, support for the old internet browsers in consumer versions will be removed immediately with due effect. However, the company has not yet clarified that the future Windows version will include Internet Explorer or not. After the support is scrapped, Microsoft Edge can be made part of the Windows OS instead of the Explorer, meaning that the Explorer will not be bundled with Windows anymore.

Internet Explorer will be replaced entirely with Microsoft Edge. A few months ago, Microsoft added Internet Explorer mode to Edge in order to entertain the users and help them easily switch between Explorer and Edge. With this help, several businesses and other users will be able to easily switch to the new Chromium-based browser. Microsoft has also said that this mode will continue to be available to its users till the year 2029, which will make it easier for them to use all the new features.
