Hakodate city of Japan started to sell “Smart Phone Tickets” which can be used in street cars, railway stations and bus stands. The tickets are being sold on a website called “DohNa!!”. These services can used by simply showing the ticket bought on the website.
A 24-hour tram ticket is being offered by the tram services which permit unlimited use of the tram services and a 1-day tram ticket that permits unlimited tram services from the start of the first train till the last.
There is also a “Tramcar / Hakodate bus common one-day ticket” and a “Tramcar / Hakodate bus common two-day ticket” which permits unlimited rides on designated sections of the Hakodate bus. Payment is only accepted by credit card (Visa / Master).
To use it, we have to simply display the ticket on the web page and show it while using it. It is a mechanism which expires after the completion of expiration date. Mechanisms such as contactless payments or QR codes are used. Initially, the one-day ticket for the streetcar was simply of scratch type (the date used was scratched with a coin), so that it can be sufficiently used as a substitute.
“DohNa!!” is a ticket sales website which was created from a project managed by Hokkaido, and vends one-day tickets to transportation companies situated in the southern region. The advantage is that it can be purchased from a website application by employing the route search of Google Maps as the entry.
