University from Russia Complete’s Trial for Covid-19 vaccine

The director, Vadim Tarasov, from the Institute for Translational Medicine and Biotechnology recently announced the successful completion of the coronavirus vaccine’s clinical trials. The trial has been administered on volunteers at Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, who will be discharged by Wednesday. The second group will be discharged on July 20, 2020

The clinical trials of the vaccine were started by the university on June 18; the vaccine was produced by Russia’s Gamalei Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology.

Alexander Lukashev, who is the director of the Institute of Medical Parasitology, Tropical and Vector-Borne Diseases at Sechenov University, states that the aim of this clinical trial was to see how safe the vaccine is for human health. This was successfully done on the volunteers.

He also confirmed that the vaccine is safe. He added that it corresponds to the safety standards as per the various vaccines used in the market.

The future development plan of the vaccine is already in place by the developer, which includes the complex epidemiological situation with the virus along with the possibility of increasing the production.
