Korean hospitals are innovating medical world by implementing voice and speech recognition.
Voice and speech recognition feature has become the base for the various virtual assistants and AI-based software. Although the application of voice and speech recognition in the medical sphere has been limited to taking help from the virtual medical assistants and fixing appointments with the doctors through AI software till now, but many Korean hospitals have made a partnership with a digital solution provider named ‘Vuno’ for progressing innovations in the medical field based on voice and speech recognition.
Implementing ASR technology in Real-time at Medical Institutes
The Korean hospitals have partnered with ‘Vuno’ to obtain and implement the Automatic Speech Recognition or ASR technology at various medical centers and hospitals that can read and write in real-time. This new edge technology can be efficiently utilized to write and create medical documents almost instantaneously, in different medical fields like radiology, surgery, pathology and nuclear medicine. The move is aimed at reducing human effort and time required for preparing medical documents and also to eliminate the human error by introducing a machine to filter the speech and prepare the accurate medical document.
The development of the program
The new voice and speech recognition solution is being currently developed by Vuno and the program is learning the domestically used Korean language mixed with English terms that are commonly used in clinics. The program is also being incorporated with data augmentation technology that can use the older data to convert it into a new and updated one thereby allowing the program to obtain a full medical record of the patient from the small amount of data available.
The program is being customized to work with common languages so that it can be implemented at a domestic level in various clinics and hospitals so that the program can be used at local places and ease the preparation of medical documents.
Application at the local levels
The new feature of voice recognition has been planned to be implemented at the local medical centers for making the medical documents prepared very easily and accurately. This feature is going to be very helpful for clinics and hospitals. This feature will be an exponential improvement of the existing transcription services and medical record preparation systems. The market study by Value Market Research on the voice and speech recognition service market anticipates that it will add a new dimension to the virtual medical assistant world.
