IMPACT OF PRIVATE LTE IN TODAY’S DIGITAL WORLD

In today’s world of digitalization, we are quite already acquainted to LTE networks since 90% of the developed and developing regions have cellular phones accessibility and most of them are LTE enabled devices which operates on cellular data plans. The LTE networks that we use on mobile devices allow us to browse the web, share and read the stories.

LTE networks are leading to the foundation where we can manage all the computing tasks in less time. Eventually 5G network will come in the picture as it is driving the market expansion. Usage of internet of things ( IoT ) would likely possess every network of some sort enabling us to send and receive accumulated data which will surely make our lives and businesses easier.

Moreover, there are some blockades too before we tend to reach this kind of connectivity level and one of them includes the spectrum on which LTE networks can be developed. Due to expensive licensing rules and policies set by the government, much of the spectrum needed for LTE network is locked.

CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service ) is currently working to reduce spectrum restrictions for users to create and manage their own private LTE networks to support IoT device and other automated systems. It will provide remarkable amount of productivity and efficiency to businesses in the long run.

For the development of new wireless communication services, CBRS was an initiative to open up 3.5 GHz band (3550-3650) originally proposed to the FCC in 2012. It was reserved for US Naval Radar and for the Department of Defense (DoD) previously, but the idea to build and manage own private mobile network was made. This band is still used by them within Incumbent Access; CBRS is governed by a three-tiered authorization framework (i.e., Incumbent Access, Priority Access, General Authorized Access) with no interference from other sources.

The availability of LTE spectrum enabled to non-traditional network operators, entrepreneurs and businesses will lead to the expansion of their market with exciting network including manufacturing, shipping, health care, and transportation. Some of the big companies like Samsung, Sony, Google and the major cellular providers like T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T are still backing up under the official rules for CBRS.

LTE provides more predictability, better security with encrypted data and higher bandwidth capacity as compared to the Wi-Fi. To create a reliable and faster network, only a few antennas with LTE small cells would be needed to acquire a range of approx. 10,000 sq. ft. With promising 5G speed of about 10 gigabits a second, LTE technologies are able to provide mobile data speed of up to 1 gigabit a second on average basis. The smartphones with LTE enabled devices need not to be set up to work on LTE network, as soon as the device is turned on; it would start functioning.

In various industries like warehouse, manufacturing, mining operations, hospitals, healthcare and many more; LTE network is enhancing the market including quality improvement, aggregation of data collection, reliability, speed and mitigation of risk prone activities. As per the research report by Value Market Research, both LTE and 5G will play a vital role in driving the market and businesses during the forecast period including the automation and internet of things.
