Twitter rolls out the feature of DM search for Android users in its new update

The microblogging platform Twitter has recently undergone a new update where many new features have been rolled out. The most impressive feature out of these has now being rolled out for Android users. Around two years ago, iOS users were given the feature of searching Twitter direct messages. That feature was limited only to iOS users. However, now the search option is being rolled out for the Android application as well. With this feature, direct messages can be searched by writing the name of users. Other than individual accounts, all the groups can also be searched in the search bar.

The search bar found in the Twitter direct messages will show any of the conversations searched above with the help of the name of users or groups. This feature will make messaging extremely easy as the users just have to enter the user name in the search bar instead of scrolling the entire inbox to find a conversion done months ago. It is shocking that after bringing a simple feature for iPhone users, Twitter took two years to make it available to Android users.

It is a widely known fact that Twitter’s core function is not to be a medium of personal messaging, yet the platform is constantly looking forward to improve its DM’s section. By the end of this year, users will be able to search the content of messages in Twitter direct messages. That is, by typing a part of the text in the message in the search bar, the users will get all the messages containing that word, which is believed to ease the way to find a particular conversation in times of urgency. In this way, which user who sent the message can also be accessed sooner even if it is not remembered.

In addition, Twitter is also giving its users the option to search for old direct messages by improving their search tool. That is, if there are a lot of messages in the inbox of the users, then it will not be visible in the recent message search results. In that manner, the users will be able to search the old messages easily. It’s important to keep in note that in the direct message section of the microblogging platform, the users also get the option to give reactions to the messages.

The rising penetration of smartphones is also playing an important role in the social networking market & growth.

Recently, Twitter has also started testing voice DMs in their application this year. With this feature, the users will be able to send voice notes to Twitter direct messages. The new feature is soon likely to be rolled out globally, as the officials have stated. The company has brought many audio-based features for its users in the past. In addition, space features like the clubhouse application on the microblogging platform are also being given to all users with more than 600 followers.
