The person who contracted the coronavirus is found to belong to Bavaria State, as per the health authorities. The number of death caused by this disease in China has reached close to 106 people, while cases have been reported in more than 10 other countries.
Late Monday the Bavarian Health Ministry confirmed the first case of this virus in Germany. The person who has contracted this virus is from Starnberg, which is almost 30 kilometers or 18 miles south of Munich. He is told to be in a good medical state as communicated by the health authority.
The statement released by the ministry mentions that the man is in an isolation ward in complete surveillance. The risk of infection is considered very “low” among the people of Bavaria. The people who were with the patient have been educated in detail about the symptoms of the disease, hygiene measures to be taken care of along with the precautions related to transmission channels.
Death toll crosses 100
This new virus which is known to originate in the central Chinese city of Wuhan is potent to cause pneumonia-like acute respiratory infection. It has till now killed close to 106 people and has infected near about 4,500 people in China, and many others in countries across the globe. South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Nepal, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the United States, France and Australia and few other countries have confirmed patients showing similar disease symptoms.
Facebook restricts China travel
The US and Canada has already released warning for their citizens to restrict or cancel their travel to Hubei province where Wuhan is located. Additionally France, Morocco and Japan are asking their citizens living in the Wuhan region to evacuate. Few EU countries, Germany included, are trying to fly their citizens out from the affected region of Wuhan.
Facebook – the Social media giant has also informed its employees to halt all nonessential travel to the mainland China in a quest to avoid the spread of the virus.
